CONTEXTURE

Following on from International Women's Day on 8 March, this exhibition showcases the textile work of 80 female artists responding to their experiences of being a woman.

This show features the completed I Am Woman Project, a large textile piece two-years in the making by Holly Searle (The Subversive Stitcher), incorporating 81 small textile works created by over 60 women. The background to this piece can be read on the I Am Woman Project feature below.

Contexture:

• the act of weaving or assembling parts into a whole

• an arrangement of interconnected parts; a structure

The words and language used in profiles are as provided by the artists so that work is portrayed as intended and that what artists want to say about themselves, their work and practice - however much or little and in whatever form - is said.

If you're interested in purchasing/discussing any of the artwork please contact me. A 10% commission is applied to sales of £150 and above and, as with show fees, any money raised through commission is utilised for gallery rent, overheads and upkeep.
